Your mental health matters
If you live with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes, trauma, or ongoing stress, it can be hard to know where to start. You may not be sure if you need medication, therapy, coaching, or something else.

What to expect as a new patient
Step 1: Initial contact
Call, send a message, or request an appointment online. Our team will ask a few brief questions to understand what you are looking for.
Step 2: Intake and evaluation
You meet with a psychiatric nurse practitioner or therapist to review your history, current symptoms, and goals. This visit usually lasts 45 to 60 minutes.
Step 3: Your treatment plan
Your provider creates a plan that may include medication management, therapy, coaching, testing, or a combination. The plan is flexible and can change as your life changes.
Step 4: Ongoing care
Follow-up visits focus on what is improving, what still feels difficult, and what needs to be adjusted. We check in regularly and support you in using new skills between sessions.
Why choose ALTA MH
Most clinics ask you to fit into the system. At ALTA MH we build care around you.
People often tell us they appreciate:
• A private clinic environment with a small, attentive team
• Providers who listen first and make space for your questions
• Care that combines medical treatment with holistic and natural options when appropriate
• Support for both symptoms and the daily routines that shape mental health
• Clear communication about medications, risks, and benefits
• Help understanding insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs
• The option for in-person visits in Salem and telehealth from anywhere in Massachusetts

ALTA MH was immensely helpful to me and my mental health journey. The providers that were involved in my care were incredibly patient and made sure I was always comfortable with the plan we came up for my treatment. I never felt rushed or pushed into any medication/treatment and my concerns were always heard and validated.

Both as a professional in the field and as a patient I highly recommend Alta MH. Alissa and Julia are very knowledgeable and really work with individuals to determine the best course of treatment-whether it is psych medications such as antidepressants or a natural remedy such as vitamins.

ALTA is using technology that truly needs to be understood by society at a deep level. They use the oligoscan to perform testing and I find it to be the most important technology I have ever used as I am a decade deep into my own chronic illness battle.
